VoIP Blogging > Vonage Companion now available for Mac users

[The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)] My only issue with Vonage has been some really crappy connections and frequent call drops. It never happened when we lived in Texas so I assume it is our crappy bandwidth up here in NY or the fact that we have the same Linksys router for the past 6 years.

[Stop the Cap!] Stop the Cap! · Thursday Evening News Briefs: WHAM-TV logged more than 250 comments in a matter of hours from outraged residents of the Flower City furious about Time Warner’s Internet rationing plan.  Some confused Vonage with Verizon, but it made no difference.  All they wanted were directions to the exit.  Rochester, almost night and day different demographically from Beaumont, Texas where Time Warner conducted their first Internet rationing experiment, is up in arms about what most perceive as a ludicrous rate increase.  One of the most technologically advanced cities in New York, Rochester has been the test bed for advanced technology trials for years, but always with introducing more innovation and better service in mind, not pulling the rug out from area residents suffering from one of the worst economic downturns since the Depression.

[Frugal Village Forums] Vonnage and magick jack - Frugal Village Forums: We had the echo problem, but that turns out to have been because of cheap phones, not Vonage. Ever since we got high quality phones, Vonage has been as good as landline and at a way better price.

[Vengeful Cynic] Vengeful Cynic: Longview Cable: But sadly this is par for this area, east texas is not an area one wants to live if common sense from those around you is a desired trait. Posted by: lisa at August 17, 2007 01:16 PM. I agree these people stink. During the last two years ... We have Vonage so we lost our phone as well. We call for service and are told someone will come but noone ever shows up. The lady we spoke to even has the audacity to offer their phone service. Why would we want another bad service? ...

[Internet Marketers Blog] Voice over IP using Vonage Review - Austin TX: In April 2004, I began using Vonage’s Voice over IP telephone service for my business. Like most consultants starting a business, I was cautious about using the traditional landline phone service due to the rising costs of taxes and, of course, long-distance charges, especially with a business line.

[Jasongraphix] VoIP Thoughts :: Jasongraphix: I got vonage nearly 2 years ago - didn’t do any research about other companies, didn’t really even know of any other VOIP companies back then except maybe one - but i must say that my vonage service has been flawless. no idea about their customer service because i’ve honestly never had to use it.

The Hollywood Liberal: I know how much you enjoy getting campaign contributions from telecommunications interests, and I hope that you find yourself swimming in contributions. I mean, you've earned it, since voting against freedom on the internet isn't going to get you many fans.

[The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly] Good, Bad, and Ugly » Blog Archive » Vonage vs. Voyage | Blogs |: BOSTON (Reuters) - Internet phone service from Voyage  Holdings Corp is vulnerable to attacks by hackers, who  are able to intercept calls to the company’s subscribers, a  security firm said on Wednesday.

Hear Us Now Blog: Since I ordered cable broadband service through Earthlink (though it is installed, maintained and billed by Time Warner our lcoal cable company)I was able to get their phone service, with caller id, voice mail and free long distance for just $19.95/month. So I guess it is swings and roundabouts - I pay $40 for internet and $20 for phone and she pays $40 for phone and $20 for internet.

[Black Bag Operations Network] Black Bag Operations Network » Blog Archive » Vonage is a Rip-Off: (which never worked) and am told that 1) I’m over the 30 days to I have to pay $30 in cancellation fees and 2) I am charged an additional $50 for hardware that I bought up front for $89 in the first place and that failed within days of power up and 3) am told that they won’t even replace the dead hardware (although the rather smug-bitchy rep in cancellations is pleased to tell me that “if you had stayed we’d replace it but since you’re cancelling you’re out of luck”).

[Spot Cool Stuff: Tech] MagicJack vs. Skype vs. Vonage: The Internet Phone Service ...: If magicJack sees excessive use or systematic or intentional misuse, it reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate your use of the magicJackTM device and/or Software immediately, and you will not be entitled to get a refund of any licensing fee or any other fee you may have paid to us.

[Magic Jack a Scam?] Magic Jack Phone Service : Magic Jack a Scam?: I like to think I’m up to date on just about all the digital phone services available these days, especially considering that I routinely blog about how much I believe in IamVoip and their service. So when I heard about this “incredible”

[City Beat - citybeat's Blog - Bakersfield.com] City Beat - Bakersfield.com - More than before.: I've seen pixelation too, but since analog channels don't pixelate (they snow), I assume that the pixelation is due to a bad feed from the upstream channel provider. Indeed, it seems to hit channels owned by the same parent company, like SciFi and USA, when it happens, so that speaks to there being interference on the channel feed to BrightHouse, not locally.

[CNET News.com - Business Tech] Vonage can keep signing up new customers - CNET News: Earlier Tuesday, Vonage attorney Roger Warin told the appeals court that without a permanent stay to the injunction, "the continuing viability of the company is threatened." He argued that it was unfair to require the halt to accepting new customers on top of the 5.5 percent royalty rate that Vonage has already agreed to pay on future sales as part of the lower court ruling. He said Verizon itself has acknowledged it gets 74 percent of its new customers from companies other than Vonage.
