I regret having to leave the company when I moved into an area that they did not cover.

Om is on to something with the Google phone

[Signal to Noise] Check it. I believe we’re actually going to see a whole bunch of devices supporting Gtalk in the next 12 months. I know for sure about one of them–I’ve seen it work and it works well. No mention of Orange during my briefing though. The Gtalk phone I saw was based on open hardware and had a very slick, nearly-textless user interface. Of course, it’s not available to the public yet. Stay tuned.

As promised, going deep with the Nokia N73

[Signal to Noise] All the pouches were either too snug (candy bar) or too loose (flip), so I settled on a snug one, slid the N73 into its new holster, and went on my way. It was only later that I discovered that there was no way to rest the N73 in the pouch without activating the joystick on the phone’s front, which protrudes a millimeter or so above the rest of the keys.
