This is why your cable Internet was down for Friday and Saturday

[Signal to Noise] It appears that a train derailment in western PA, which resulted in an explosion of inflammable liquid, was to blame for yesterday’s (and today’s) MASSIVE widespread downtime incident on Comcast, Adelphia, and Time-Warner digital network systems. Thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of cable Internet subscribers were without services for about 36 hours, beginning early in the evening on Friday.

Asterisk SIP NAT solutions - voip-info.org

[Voip-info.org] What I have done to fix this SIP NAT issue is install a small linux router at the client site, which has a public IP, and is the gateway for a private network. Using netfilter and NAT, you can do anything you want, and all you need to do is setup an IPIP tunnel back to your asterisk server to allow SIP phones to have a direct IP connection.

iBlue is cool, but don’t get carried away

[Signal to Noise] There are lots of $1500 Toshiba hybrids that you can slap up on your plywood mounting board and make 30 simultaneous calls, albeit without the benefit of VoIP. Plus, in 90% of the installations, people are going to have to trunk to the PSTN, which means adding a couple 4-port FXO gateways at five or six hundred bucks a pop (something that $1500 Toshiba just HAS).
